Latest Update (01nd September 2023): As per the SSC’s latest notice released on 01 September 2023 on the official website. All Candidates who have applied for the Multi Tasking (Non-Technical), Staff (MTS), and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2023. This is to inform you that the following amendments have been made to the age limit and tie-breaking rules for the Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS) and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2023.
- The age limit for the MTS post is 18-25 years, and the age limit for the Havaldar post is 18-27 years.
- If more than one candidate secures the same aggregate marks in Session II, the tie will be broken by considering the following, order:
- Marks in General Awareness of Session II
- Total normalized marks in Session-I
- Date of birth (older candidate gets preference)
- Alphabetical order of the names
Please note that these amendments are applicable to all candidates who have applied for the exam, including those who have already submitted their applications.

SSC MTS 2023 Eligibility

NATIONALITY / CITIZENSHIP:
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st of January 1962, to permanently settle in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
Note I: Candidate should note that Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate available on the date of submission of application will only be accepted by the Commission for determining the Age- eligibility and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.
